We provide three types of services within the area of
Family Law:
Collaborative Family Law: Most of
our practice involves direct representation of individual
clients using the Collaborative Method of Divorce. This
is a relatively new method in which all parties
commit, in writing, to resolve their issues out of court
using strategies designed to help them achieve their
best possible outcomes. The Collaborative method is becoming
increasingly popular around the world because it gives
clients the opportunities to control the outcome of their
divorce and to focus on what matters most.
Ron Ousky
has been an international leader in the Collaborative
Law movement and recently co-authored a book on the
Collaborative Method with Stu Webb, the founder of Collaborative
Law. The book, entitled The Collaborative Way to
Divorce, the Revolutionary New Method that Results in
Less Stress, Lower Cost, and Happier Kids—Without
Going to Court, is being published by Hudson Street
Press, a division of Penguin USA and is available
in bookstores June 1, 2006.

Mediation.
We can also be retained by couples to work
with them as a mediator. Mediation is a method in which
the parties hire a neutral person to help them resolve
their disputes out of court. Mediation continues to
be the most commonly used method for families to resolve
issues out of court. It has many similarities to the
Collaborative Method and can be used with the Collaborative
Method or as a separate process.
Consulting. We also
work as a consultant to help couples and individuals
decide what option may work best for them. Having devoted
most of his practice to studying the options available
to families, Ron Ousky is uniquely qualified to help
clients understand each of your choices and to select
the process, and the professionals, that can best help
you achieve your goals. While his primary focus is on
helping clients find solutions that will help them resolve
their issues on their own, he realizes that there are
times when it may be necessary to go to court. As a
consultant, he can help you choose the best professionals
for your particular situation.
Practice Areas: All of our work is
in the area of family law, which generally involves divorces,
but can also include cases involving unmarried parents
or financials disputes between unmarried partners. The
issues that we address include:
